A sign of the times

I’m forgetting everything, lately. I know, I know, memory isn’t my strong point. But the one thing I’m good at is knowing where I’ve put things.

Even that’s failing me.

In particular, I almost always know where my keys and my wallet are. I can put them down somewhereand√ā¬†know exactly where to find them without thinking about it. But this afternoon when I left the office, I got to my car and realized that I had no idea where my car key was (it was on my desk, under some paper).

Also this morning, I put my tape recorder in my bag so that I could get some notes off of it. While I was at the office I thought I had forgotten it, and then just now I couldn’t remember where it was until I laid eyes on my bag.

Just the most recent examples. And consider this: a lot of my possessions are sitting in boxes spread all over the house.

Yep, I don’t know where anything is right now.

Oh, by the way, we bought appliances the other night…a new washer and dryer. The ones we have are terrible, so we figured it’s worth spending the money now to get some good machines.

And in other news…I suppose I’m feeling a little better these past few days. Still not back up to full speed, but my outlook is much improved over last week. And hey, that’s progress. Before you know it, I’ll be back in full command of my life.

The way it should be.

In the meantime, I wonder where my spare keys are…
