Double trouble

Something interesting happened on the way to FASS rehearsal last night. And I just have to write about it. And then something else interesting happened following rehearsal. And I want to mention that as well.

So what’s so interesting? We’ll go in order of occurrence.

First, I bought a baritone saxophone.

I’d been thinking about it for awhile…I think I even wrote about it sometime last year. An opportunity presented itself over the past couple of weeks, and I took the plunge. The horn is beautiful and it was a great deal, so I’m pretty excited. I tried it out at the store, bought it, and took it with me to rehearsal. I’ll start getting my money’s worth for it tonight when I start playing it in the show.

The second interesting thing is that, after our final dress rehearsal, the director of our play proposed to our stage manager in front of the cast. They’ve been together for about 2.5 years, I think, and they’re a wonderful couple. I’m really pleased and I’m so glad to have been there for the occasion. I wish them all the happiness in the world, and I’ll do whatever I can to contribute to it.

That said…come see FASS! It opens tonight and it’s gonna be great!

  2. Thanks, Alice! I’m glad to hear you enjoyed the show. And just to be clear, I have a tenor sax that I’ve owned for about 15 years…just wanted to add to the collection. Actually, I guess that would be “start the collection”.
