It’s time to figure out what my options are.
My current car lease is up in April, so I’ve got two months to figure out what I’m doing. I can choose to buy out my Protege5, or I can get a new car. I can stick with Mazda or go elsewhere.
Primary interests include the Mazda3, Honda Civic, and maybe even the Toyota Yaris. There’s also the new Dodge Caliber to consider when it’s released this spring. I could go with a used car as well, but if I did that I’d be better off just keeping my Protege5.
Something I’ll have to consider, though, is my insurance payments. As you may recall, I picked up a hefty speeding ticket last fall, and that’s going to have an impact.
But let’s be honest…I love researching stuff like this. I thrive on comparison shopping. Back when I got the Protege5, I was pretty set on it as being the only car I was interested in. That’s not the case this time around, so I’ll have to spend some time talking prices with dealers.
Last time, I wasn’t interested in haggling. This time, I’m looking forward to it.
Let the fun begin.
