Despite Jeff’s pointed suggestion about RRSP’s, I ended up bidding on the WX5 auction, but didn’t succeed. I set myself a maximum bid where it was worthwhile if I got it, but I didn’t realistically expect to win the auction.
I find the bid mentality highly amusing. Even though I went in expecting to lose, the competitive voice in my head kept telling me to bid up. It took a fair amount of restraint to not do so.
In the end, Jeff’s right. I should worry a little more about my RRSP’s. And I will. Though a new projector for the living room would be nice…
